More comfort at home
We replaced the old frames with new K·LINE aluminium windows to improve the performance of the openings throughout the house.
For this home in Sant Pere de Ribes, we replaced the windows and entrance door. The project includes casement windows, KLBC sliding windows, a KLBC Plus sliding balcony door and a K·LINE Steel entrance door.
Replacing all the windows in a home does not mean every opening needs the same type of window. Each room has different dimensions, uses and practical needs.
At Iremía, we looked at every opening separately. A casement window made more sense in some areas, while a sliding window worked better in others. For the large opening to the outside, we needed a system designed to work comfortably with a larger sash.
That is why the project combines K·LINE casement windows, KLBC sliding windows and a KLBC Plus sliding balcony door. We also replaced the main entrance with a K·LINE Steel door.
Although several systems are used throughout the house, the profiles and finishes follow the same visual line, so everything feels consistent.
Each window was chosen around how that part of the home would actually be used. We did not want to fit the same system everywhere simply because it was easier.
The difference had to be noticeable not only inside the home, but also every time the windows were opened and closed.

The slim profiles give the glass more presence and help make the most of the available natural light.
We chose the opening style according to the dimensions of each window and how it would be used day to day.
The windows use different opening systems, but their finishes keep the same look throughout the home.
We fitted K·LINE casement windows in several rooms.
In these areas, being able to open the window fully when needed and ventilate the rooms easily was the priority.
They work differently from the sliding windows, but the matching profiles and finishes keep the same look throughout the house.
The kitchen has three small windows side by side. The two outer openings are very narrow and, because of their dimensions, only allow us to use tilt-and-turn windows.
The central opening is wider, which meant we could fit a K·LINE KLBC sliding window.
A sliding window works particularly well here because the sashes move within the opening instead of swinging into the kitchen. Whenever the dimensions allow it, this is a very practical option where there are worktops, furniture or circulation space close to the window.
On this sliding window we fitted a minimalist handle. It is slimmer than a conventional handle and has a much straighter shape, so it sits more discreetly against the frame and keeps the overall look cleaner.
The large balcony door needed a different solution from the standard sliding windows used elsewhere in the house.
For this opening we fitted a K·LINE KLBC Plus, designed to work with larger sliding leaves.
As this is an opening that is regularly used to go outside, we wanted the sash to be comfortable to move while keeping as much glass as possible visible when the door is closed.
This balcony door is fitted with the intuitive handle. As well as forming part of the locking system, it gives you a good grip on the sash, making the door more comfortable to open and close.
The video shows how the handle is used and how it helps when moving a sash of this size.
Once the windows are installed, details such as the joins between profiles, handles, locking points and finishing work are what complete the result.
The entrance door was also part of the renovation.
We fitted a K·LINE Steel entrance door, using finishes that follow the same line as the new windows.
This gives the entrance its own presence while still tying in naturally with the rest of the aluminium frames throughout the house.
Seeing the door in use makes it easier to appreciate the thickness of the leaf, the way it opens and how it looks once installed.
We used four different solutions in this project because each area of the home had different requirements.
For rooms where being able to open the window fully and ventilate easily was important.
For openings where we wanted an easy-to-use window without taking up space inside the room.
For the large opening to the outside, where the sliding leaves are considerably bigger.

At Iremía, we did not fit the same type of window everywhere.
We combined casement windows, KLBC sliding windows, a KLBC Plus sliding balcony door and a Steel entrance door according to what each part of the home needed.
What mattered was making every window comfortable to use while ensuring they all worked together visually across the home.
