It is not just shade. It is about turning a terrace into a more comfortable, more usable and more impressive space.

What is a tensioned pergola

A robust fabric roof for terraces that want something more than a standard awning.

A tensioned pergola combines an aluminium structure with a technical fabric cover that runs along guides. When extended, it covers the terrace and protects from sun and rain. When retracted, it leaves the space more open and lighter.

It is an especially interesting option when you want to cover a large area without carrying out heavy building work, while keeping a clean and contemporary look. Depending on the terrace, it can work well for a private home, restaurant, hotel, community space or commercial project.

  • For terraces where a bioclimatic pergola does not fit because of style, budget or visual feel.
  • For anyone who wants a retractable roof with movement and a warmer appearance than a fixed structure.
  • For businesses that need to make better use of their terrace for more months of the year.
  • For projects where vertical zip screens or glass curtains can make a real difference.

Pergo Rain Plus system

Designed to cover large spaces with a refined look.

We work with Siplan’s Pergo-Rain family because it allows us to create tensioned covers with a reinforced structure, integrated drainage and customisation options that make the final result feel as if it was designed for that terrace from day one.

01

Rain-ready tensioned fabric

The roof is designed to protect from the sun and help against rain, always with the correct slope, drainage and installation.

02

Reinforced structure

The structural profiles and rafters make it possible to cover large surfaces with a solid and clean appearance.

03

Water drainage through the posts

The system can channel water through the posts, avoiding uncontrolled runoff along the sides.

04

More than just a roof

It can be completed with LED lighting, a protective top cover, zip screens or glass curtains depending on the needs of the project.

Real video of how it works

This is how the fabric retracts and how the front zip screens work.

Seeing the movement makes the product much easier to understand: the roof opens and retracts, while the vertical zip enclosures help protect the sides when the sun drops, there is moderate wind or more privacy is needed.

Retractable roof

You enjoy shade and protection when you need it, but you can retract the fabric to let in more light.

Zip front enclosures

The vertical screens help enclose the terrace without turning it into a permanently closed construction.

A more complete setup

The key is to properly study the roof, the sides, the sun orientation and the real use of the terrace.

Dimensions and quotation

Every terrace needs a different solution. That is why we do not give a final price without taking measurements and understanding its characteristics.

Pergo Rain Plus allows configurations for large spaces. Depending on the version, the module and the installation, we study elements such as width, projection, support type, anchoring, drainage and possible enclosures. In this installation, for example, the pergola is complemented with glass curtains to protect the space better without losing the sense of openness.

It is a technical-range product. If you are simply looking for “something cheap to block the sun”, a conventional awning will probably be a better fit. If you want a terrace with structure, more continuous use and a strong visual impact, then we are speaking the same language.

Why do it with Alustetic

Because even a good tensioned pergola can turn out badly if the project is poorly planned.

This type of installation is not about choosing a pretty photo and asking for “one just like it”. It is about taking accurate measurements, understanding how the terrace is used and deciding which system truly fits.

  • We advise you according to sun orientation, dimensions, terrace use and wind exposure.
  • We assess whether it makes sense to add zip screens, glass curtains, lighting, a protective top cover or side solutions.
  • We review anchors, supports and water drainage before preparing a quote.
  • We work so the result is attractive, yes, but also logical and durable.

How we work

From “I want to cover my terrace” to a real quotation.

To give you a proper price, we need more than an approximate measurement. The better defined the project is, the fewer surprises there will be later.

01

Initial guidance

You tell us what kind of terrace you have, what you want to achieve, and send us photos or visit our showroom.

02

Measurements and feasibility

We check width, projection, height, supports, walls, flooring, water drainage and exposure.

03

Configuration

We define the model, fabric, colour, motorisation, LED lighting, front or side zip screens and glass curtains if needed.

04

Quotation

We prepare a clear proposal so you know what is included and which options you can add.

A tensioned pergola helps you enjoy your terrace for many more months of the year: shade when it is hot, protection when the weather changes, and a much more comfortable outdoor space for dining, relaxing or welcoming clients. To make sure it works well, we study each case carefully: measurements, orientation, sun and wind exposure, enclosure options and intended use. This way we can prepare a realistic proposal, designed for your terrace and for how you want to use it.

Frequently asked questions

What is worth knowing before requesting a quote.

What is the difference between a tensioned pergola and a bioclimatic pergola?

A bioclimatic pergola uses adjustable aluminium louvres. A tensioned pergola uses a retractable technical fabric cover that runs along guides. A bioclimatic pergola has a more architectural and rigid look; a tensioned pergola usually feels lighter and warmer, and allows you to retract the textile roof when you want to open the space more.

Is it suitable for rain?

Yes, the Pergo-Rain family is designed to protect against rain, but it has to be planned correctly: slope, drainage, water channeling, anchoring and exposure conditions. It is not just “putting up a fabric and that’s it”; if it is done that way, problems come later.

Can it be enclosed with vertical zip screens or glass curtains?

Yes. Zip screens are a very interesting option for gaining privacy, reducing low side sun or protecting the space better. In some projects, glass curtains can also be considered, especially when more protection is needed without losing light or the sense of openness.

What sizes can be made?

It depends on the configuration. The Pergo-Rain family allows for large projections and solutions for spacious areas, but each project must be studied according to width, projection, supports and wind exposure. That is why we do not confirm dimensions or price without reviewing the case.

Is it an economical solution?

It is not the cheapest way to create shade. It is a technical, made-to-measure solution designed for people who want a terrace that is properly resolved. If the only goal is to reduce cost, a conventional awning is probably the better option to consider.

How much does a tensioned pergola cost?

The price depends greatly on the dimensions, the structure, the type of installation, the motorisation, the fabric, LED lighting, zip enclosures, glass curtains and the complexity of the assembly. To give you a useful quotation, we need to review photos, measurements and, in many cases, see the installation.

Do you work with private homes as well as hospitality projects?

Yes. It is an interesting product both for private homes and for restaurants, hotels or businesses with a terrace. In hospitality especially, it is important to carefully study daily use, durability, enclosures and the exterior appearance.

Tailor-made quotation

Would you like to know whether a tensioned pergola fits your terrace?

Send us photos, approximate measurements and tell us what you need: shade, rain protection, privacy, hospitality use, zip screens, glass curtains, side enclosures or lighting. With that information, we can guide you much better.

We install in Vilanova i la Geltrú and throughout the usual work area around our showroom.
